Your mixing and mastering learning path — step by step

Learning to mix and master professionally isn't a linear crash course, but a structured process. In our one-on-one coaching, we'll go through the following six modules in a logical order—adapted to your current skill level, of course:

1. Fundamentals of Hearing and Acoustics

Before you touch plugins, you need to understand what you're actually hearing. We train your ear in the sweet spot, check the Fletcher-Munson Curves Your room acoustics, monitor setup, and level reference are all adjusted. The result: You make decisions based on what's actually happening—not on visual plugin indicators.

2. Frequency processing & EQ

Finding resonances, decluttering the midrange, making the highs airy without sounding harsh. We work with the Q Factor, analyze Decibellevels and practice both surgical and musical EQing on your own mix.

3. Dynamic Control: Compression & Limiter

Ratio, Threshold, Attack, Release — and most importantly: when do I use which? We'll show you compression as a creative tool (not just level smoothing), explain Limiteruse on the master and Clipping pitfalls you really need to watch out for.

4. Loudness & streaming standards

Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube — each platform has its own loudness targets. We teach you how to use LUFS as a tool and explain the difference between RMS, true peak and integrated loudness. The result: masters that stay powerful on every platform — without getting quieter through normalization.

5. Sample Rates, Bit Depth & Export

44.1 vs. 48 kHz, 16-bit vs. 24-bit, WAV vs. MP3 vs. FLAC — we'll show you why 48 kHz is the better standard today , which Bit depth makes sense when and how to export correctly without losing dynamics in the mastering step.

6. Vinyl Mastering & Special Workflows

If you're aiming for a vinyl release: Lacquer vs. DMM cutting, sequencing, sibilance maintenance, mono compatibility in the bass. Vinyl mastering is a craft in its own right — our vinyl mastering specialization We incorporate this directly into the coaching.
