200 year old piano moves into Peak Studios!
Art treasure rediscovered!
A 200 year old piano has been decorating our studio for a few weeks. The piece of jewelery comes from the Pianoforte factory in Berlin Carl Bechstein. C. Bechstein (1826-1900) was a German piano maker who began his apprenticeship at the age of 14. He was quickly successful and became purveyor to the court King Friedrich Wilhelm IV of Prussia. Furthermore, King Ludwig II of Bavaria had a composition piano made by Bechstein as a gift for Richard Wagner. They still exist today C. Bechstein Pianoforte Factory, which is the largest piano and grand piano factory in Europe with approx. 5000 sales per year.
"Our piano has certainly seen a lot," says Chris Jones. “When you play, it tempts you to play mostly pieces in the minor key. You can feel the history of this musical instrument”.
